Tim has played the organ from the age of 11 and he studied with Arnold Greir in Ealing and Peter Goodman in Hull. His accompanying has taken him from small chapels and parish churches to very large scale concert venues and cathedrals in Wales, England, Scotland and further afield. Performances include Birmingham Symphony Hall, Manchester Bridgewater Hall, Chester, St Asaph, Lichfield, Brussels, Ghent & Paris (Notre Dame) Cathedrals, Buckfast and Dunfermline Abbeys, St Mark's Basilica, Venice, the Nikolaskirche in Berlin–Spandau and both the 'New Bach' and 'Sauer' organs in St Thomas's Church, Leipzig. He has accompanied an immense variety of choirs, ranging from small community ensembles to extremely large choral societies and choir associations numbering 200 or more singers.

Tim was the organist for the 2007 National Eisteddfod of Wales and also for the National Eisteddfod Gymanfa Ganu (Singing Festival) in 2013. He also played for the 2019 Eisteddfod choir in its first performance of choruses from Mendelssohn's 'Hymn of Praise. Tim has worked as organist and choir trainer at three Anglican churches: St John's, Southall Green, St Eurgain & St Peter's, Northop, and most recently at the Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin, Mold, where for 10 years he has been playing on the fine recently restored Rushworth and Dreaper Organ built in the late baroque style. His broadcasts have included 3 editions of Radio 4's 'Sunday Worship', 2 editions of BBC TV's popular 'Songs of Praise' and 4 TV broadcasts of 'Dechrau Canu, Dechrau Canmol' on S4C.

Tim’s pipe organ repertoire includes a huge variety of voluntaries for weddings, ceremonial occasions and church services. Work as orchestral organist includes Holst's Planets Suite, Mahler's Second Symphony and Britten's St Nicholas and Noye's Fludde as well as many organ continuo parts and Handel's Organ Concerto in F as soloist. Tim has also accompanied much of the traditional repertoire for chorus and organ as well as songs for all voices and music for trumpet, violin, harp and cello.
